and Chief Operating Officer -Rail World Locomotive Leasing
Mr. David Patterson
has
been working in the passenger transportation
industry for 19 years. Prior experience
includes 4 years of aviation experience at
US Airways, 12 years of passenger rail
experience at Amtrak and 3 years under his
current position at Rail World Locomotive
Leasing.
Started with Rail World
Locomotive Leasing in 2002 after serving as
Director of Equipment Leasing and Sales at
Amtrak. While at Amtrak he was responsible
for the development and successful
operations of Amtrak’s equipment leasing and
sales business. In this capacity, he was
responsible for fleeting the new Panama
Canal Railroad with its current passenger
equipment consisting of rebuilt clocker
passenger cars and EMD F40-PH-2 locomotives,
and also developed successful leasing
arrangements with major U.S. and Canadian
commuter operators, tour and excursion
operators and freight railroads. He also
served in Amtrak’s Treasury department and
was instrumental in the acquisition and
financing of rolling stock, including the
current Acela high-speed train equipment,
Superliner passenger cars, Viewliner
passenger cars and GE locomotives.
He has a B.A. degree from
Wake Forest University (1980) and an MBA/
Finance from Georgia State University
(1986). Rail World Locomotive Leasing
currently has locomotives operating in three
countries (U.S., Panama and Canada) and will
soon begin operations in Eastern Europe. |
